This weekend will see a very exciting, yearly travel blogger conference taking place in New York City!! It is referred to as TBEX ’10 sponsored by Travel Blog Exchange, an online community of travel bloggers (www.travelblogexchange.com)and hosted by Galavanting. I wish I could attend but alas that is not a possibility as I just recently found about the event! It was sold out. Tickets were $80 for travel bloggers and about $120 or so for PR and media. Reduced-price tickets for $40 were then offered as standing-room only, in the lounge. Those tickets have since been sold out also. Fortunately, the Saturday and Sunday conference will be available as a livestream. Travel bloggers and travel enthusiasts should jot this down and be sure to tune in for this amazing opportunity to hear lectures by some of the TOP bloggers in the travel industry!
The two day event features workshops with industry gurus speaking on a vast array of topics such as monetizing your travel blog, SEO for your site, the use of online videos and podcasts, travel photography and travel writing advice. Attendees will be receiving some cool SWAG too!!
Some of the top travel bloggers that will speak include Nomadic Matt (Matt Kepnis), Chris Christensen from Amateur Traveler, Gary Arndt from Everything-Everywhere, and Craig Martin from Indie Travel Podcast. On Sunday, there will be a keynote speaker address then Chris and Gary also will run a podcasting event as they do regularly for “This Week in Travel”. A representative from one of the top luxury travel magazines “Conde Nast Traveler” will speak also.
According to the schedule of guest speakers, there does not appear to be any representation from the vegan or vegetarian travel community. I have not heard of any vegan travelers planning on attending either. Next year, I definitely want to attend the conference! Vegan travel bloggers should be represented too! 🙂
The vegan travel blogging community should plan on attending and possibly even getting a spot as a guest speaker. We are a large and growing community that also adores world travel, experiencing ethnic VEGAN foods, and meeting peoples from other cultures!
In the meantime, please remember to find time starting Saturday, June 26th at 9:30AM and Sunday, June 27th starting at 9:30AM for the livestreaming event to enjoy travel advice from other seasoned travelers!!
